The pre-pregnancy health check: what's worth doing before you start trying.

A specific, India-aware checklist — so you walk in prepared, not anxious.

Most pregnancy checklists start the day you get a positive test. The genuinely useful ones start a few months earlier. The window before you begin trying is quietly one of the most valuable — it's the time to catch anything small, sort it out calmly, and give yourself the healthiest possible running start. Here's what's actually worth doing, without turning it into a source of worry.

Book a preconception visit — about three months ahead. This isn't the same as a routine check-up. It's a specific conversation with your doctor about planning a pregnancy: your history, your cycle, any existing conditions, and what to prepare. Aiming for roughly three months before you start trying leaves time to act on anything that comes up. If you have a known condition or a past complication, book even earlier.
